Welcome to the Kinston-Lenoir County Education Committee and Foundation.

The Lenoir County Education Foundation was established in 1990 as part of the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber’s outgoing commitment to quality education.  Since its inception, the foundation has expanded its initial focus to form a bond between local business leaders and all levels of education in our community.  Currently the 2008 Education Committee is working to implement a variety of innovative programs.  Most recently a mission statement was adopted:

The Education Committee and Foundation is a catalyst for educational excellence and an improved quality of life in Lenoir County by connecting the business community and all levels of education through related activities and awareness.

The committee includes representatives from the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce, the Partnership for Children of Lenoir/Greene Counties, the Lenoir County Public Schools, and the Lenoir Community College.  The committee recognizes the importance the business community’s involvement with education at all stages, levels and ages.

A partnership that works.........

Dear Business Owner/Organization Leader:

Lenoir County Public School teachers are constantly looking for ways to enhance their lessons.  One valuable resource is YOU – a community leader/business owner/service provider. Lenoir County Public Schools and the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and Foundation invite you to partner with us.  We are developing a new community/schools partnership – Community Classroom Visitation Program. This is an opportunity for you to join hands with our teachers. You can help them enhance their curriculum; you can help make their curriculum “come alive.”
