Many family members, friends and area business people were on hand for the Ribbon Cutting at Wee Time located at 2419 N. Herritage Street.  Wee Time is a Children’s Activity & Enrichment Center that offers families and the community a facility with creative services. Gram Spear, Chamber of Commerce Chair Elect welcomed everyone and mentioned how fortunate Kinston is to have such a business.  Mayor Buddy Ritch cut the ribbon after Blair Chadwick, owner of Wee Time, introduced her staff and said how her new business was a long time dream of hers. The Tied Bouquet Best Diamond Packaging Neuse Regional Library

Beautiful Downtown Kinston continues to grow as we welcomed one of the newest businesses to open recently.  The Tied Bouquet is owned by Carolyn Hardy and is a full service florist shop with upscale and unique offerings at affordable prices.  Mayor Buddy Ritch along with a huge crowd was on hand to welcome Carolyn and her staff to our community.
 

Kevin Thorne from Best Diamond Packaging and employees recently celebrated their 5th Anniversary with a special Ribbon Cutting ceremony.  Everyone enjoyed a program that included a facility tour, employee recognitions and great food.  Best Diamond is located at 1447 Enterprise Blvd.

Neuse Regional Library Expansion and Renovation Dedication Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting that recently took place is one more example of the great progress that is taking place in Downtown Kinston and Lenoir County.  Agnes Ho, Director of Libraries and others gave remarks mentioning the collaboration and hard work of the many individuals and organizations that made this dream a reality. Be sure to stop by the library located on Queen Street to see first hand all they have to offer

The Chamber of Commerce was happy to assist West Pharmaceutical at their recent ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating their newly completed compounding facility.  Don Morel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of West, along with Jimmy Adams, Plant Manager, Kinston plant management and staff welcomed everyone with a program filled with history, well wishes, recognition and entertainment.   Congratulations West! 

Melanie and her husband Jeff spoke from their hearts when they told the crowd how they ended up owning a business in downtown Kinston.  “Photography is our passion... which every photographer should be able to say! But for Jeff and myself, it runs pretty deep.”  Mayor Buddy Rich and many others welcomed Melanie and Jeff as the ribbon was cut.

This great new hair salon and spa is located at 303 E. New Bern Rd., 70 E before you get to the Neuse Sport Shop on the right. They are beside the Fish Tackle Outlet on the right.   Many well-wishers were there to celebrate the opening and welcome this new partnership of stylists to our community.  They offer over 35 years of experience and offer the latest hair fashions, tanning beds, pedicures, manicures and more.  Appointments and walk-ins are welcome.   You may want to check the Hot Deals section of the Chamber website for occasional specials!

A large group gathered to welcome Terrance Tubs, the new owner/manager and his family to Nissan of Kinston.  Mr. Tubs mentioned that he and his family look forward to being residents of Kinston and are very happy to be in Lenoir County.  He introduced his staff and talked about the Dealership.  Mayor Buddy Ritch welcomed them and cut the ceremonial ribbon


 704 D Plaza Blvd. (in Jonathan Shopping Center near Corporate Resources) 24/7 Fitness has operated in Kinston since 2001 and celebrated their 7-year anniversary with all who attended the recent ribbon cutting.  Bob Garrett welcomed everyone and mentioned how good this community has been to him over the years.  He is always working hard to give back to the community through 24/7 Fitness as they Keep it Real for Real People with Real Results.  Healthy snacks were provided along with plans for a future Café Fitness open to the public.


Eastern Pregnancy Information Clinic in now located at 2906 B N. Herritage Street, Kinston across from Lenoir Memorial Hospital in the building behind Urgent Care next door to Dr. Lewis Casey, Optometrist in Suite A.  Eastern Pregnancy Information Clinic is a non-profit faith based organization providing services to women and their families at no charge.  Executive Director Diane Hardee welcomed all that came, explained their services and offered a tour of the new offices.

Precision Healthcare Services located at 400 Glenwood Ave, Suite 10 recently celebrated their new office opening with an after hour Ribbon Cutting.  Mayor Buddy Ritch was there to welcome everyone and help CEO Corey Lawson cut the ribbon.  Precision Healthcare Service provides quality mental health and substance abuse services to adults and children.   Their programs include: Community Support, Day Treatment, and Intensive in Home, Outpatient services. Day Treatment is an intensive program for clients requiring a significant amount of support. Mayor Buddy Ritch along with store manager Russell Hill cut the ribbon to welcome CARQUEST, one of Kinston’s newest businesses located at 809 Mitchell Street in Kinston. Many people were on hand to help the CARQUEST employees celebrate their opening. With its corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, CARQUEST Auto Parts is the premier supplier of replacement products, accessories, supplies and equipment for virtually all makes of automobiles, as well as light and heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, buses, recreational vehicles and agricultural equipment. Additionally, we distribute and sell tools, equipment, chemicals, paint and accessories.

Sears located at the Vernon Park Mall had a ribbon cutting to officially welcome new manager Adrain Arnett.  Mr. Arnett introduced his staff to the attendees and mentioned the merchandise that is available at this location.  Sears is the leading home appliance retailer in North America and is a retail sales leader in tools, lawn and garden, home electronics, and automotive repair and maintenance.

Buddy Ritch was on hand along with Dan Sale to cut the ribbon of the newly remodeled BMW showroom at Sale Auto Mall.  The Sale Auto Mall is located on Hwy 70 and 258.


Mayor Buddy Ritch and many others were on hand to celebrate another new business in Kinston. Johnny Smith the owner of Custom Computing is proud to announce the opening of The Mouse Pad, Kinston’s newest coffee shop and Internet café.  They offer services such as document printing, remote file access, corporate subscriptions and wireless along with delicious sandwiches, muffins, cookies and snacks.   In addition you can count on steaming hot coffees, cappuccinos, lattes, refreshing iced tea and an espresso bar.  Feel free to relax in a cozy atmosphere complete with new leather furniture and wonderful original artwork on display and for sale.  And if that’s not enough, kick back and watch the game on their big screen television in this family friendly setting.   When you stop by, be sure to tell them that the Chamber sent you!

Adriana’s Gifts and Home Décor, located in beautiful Downtown Kinston at 222 North Herritage Street was packed with well-wishers during the recent ribbon cutting ceremony. The Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce along with the Appearance Commission recognized the new Visitors and Information Center on Hwy. 70 as the recipient of the Visual Improvement Award.  Lucy Marston, Lenoir County Tourism Director was on hand with several others to accept the award. 

Wendy Rhodes owner of Liberty Tax Service welcomed all to a special Business After Hours networking event on March 20.  Liberty Tax Service is located at 1208 W. Vernon Avenue across from Blockbuster and is a leader in the industry of income tax preparation.  They are certainly doing their part in our community as they have been providing free tax preparation to senior citizens that meet certain guidelines.  Several Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, community leaders and others were on hand to meet Ms. Rhodes and her staff.

Kids R Us Gold's Gym Sweets Coffee Shop

Kids R Us Child Care Center Ribbon Cutting took place on Friday, March 7 at 1 p.m.  Several people were on hand including Councilman Jimmy Cousins as owner Julia Smith cut the ceremonial ribbon.
Kids R Us is a childcare center servicing children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age. They have been in the childcare field for over 12 years and committed to providing quality childcare. Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The staff is highly qualified and ready to provide the best of care for your child. They are located at 1800 Old Snow Hill Road.
 

At the Ribbon Cutting, Gold’s gym announced it’s commitment to the community and the Lenoir County Education Foundation by agreeing to donate part of their March membership proceeds with a guarantee of $1,000 to the Foundation.  Many were on hand to help them celebrate their opening as Mayor Buddy Ritch cut the ribbon.  Dr. Terry Cline was on hand at the Business After Hours showing his appreciation for the generous donation to the Education Foundation.

The Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce had Ribbon Cutting to welcome another great shop in downtown Kinston. Sweets Coffee Shop offers specialty coffee such as Jamaican Me Crazy, Southern Pecan and their House Blend. To accompany these coffees you can sample delicious pumpkin bread, coffee cake, brownies, cookies and other tasty desserts.  Many people were on hand to help Sweets Coffee Shop celebrate their opening.

Mayor Buddy Ritch was on hand for the largest Chamber Ribbon Cutting to date!  Fit 4 Life is located at the Plaza Shopping Center on the corner between Piggly Wiggly and Subway. Providence Manor 910 North Herritage Street officially opened Nov.1, 2007. They are an Independent Senior Living Community for people who are 55 and older. They offer individualized apartments along with care and amenities such as 3 meals per day, laundry, housekeeping, transportation and life enrichment activities.   Providence Manor works with EPS Pharmacy of Kinston to help residents manage their medications and can also deliver medications to your front door. They are similar to an Assisted Living, however they offer 1 - 2 bedroom apartments with call bells and 24 hour staffing.  Deborah Redgrave is a NC Certified Assisted Living Administrator with 15 years in healthcare and shares ownership with her husband Steve Redgrave. They are glad to be in Kinston and feel as though they offer a needed service that allow Lenoir County senior citizens to retire in comfort and security.
